Flying Site Rules 1.
Under no circumstances will any person be allowed to use the flying
site for flying model aircraft unless a certificate of insurance, which
can be produced by the person, covers them or a member of the committee of
the club can verify cover. Any past or un-paid up members who violates
this rule will render themselves liable to be refused new membership. 2.
One parking space must at all times be left clear in the car park
to allow the safe turning of members vehicles. 3.
All personal rubbish must be removed from the flying site by the
member himself and not left for other members to clear. 4.
Radio Equipment must not be used out with the flying field. (E.g.
The car park or roadway) Your frequency must be cleared for use from the
channel board on the field before being switched “on”. 5.
The pits area has to be positioned on the field (depending on the
direction of the wind), which will enable all take-offs to be made from
right to left into wind. 6.
All pilots must stand just outside the pits area between the runway
and the pits as close to each other so as to eliminate as much as possible
any radio interference. 7.
The running in of engines in the pits area should only be carried
out when exhaust is pointed away from other members/models not to cause
annoyance, Engine/plane is placed at the furthermost part of the pits
area, the time is restricted to two tanks of fuel per flying session. 8.
Take-offs must start after a line taken from in front of the pits
(e.g. model must not taxi or start “take-off” before passing pits
area). 9.
Landing models must not touch down before it has passed the pits
area. 10.
Touch and go`s must only be performed after the model has flown
passed the pits area. 11.
All take-offs, landings and “dead stick” calls must be called
prior to being performed. All “dead stick” calls must have priority
over other calls. 12.
All controls and
flying surfaces must be checked prior to take-off with engine running at
full power. The engine must be adjusted to enable it to be stopped on
closing the engine trim tab on the TX. A timer should be used to avoid
unnecessary dead stick landings. 13.
No flying allowed over the pits area, and no low flying allowed to
take place over the car park or roadway. 14.
Any person who in the opinion of the members present, is flying in
a dangerous manner, should be warned and if he continues the chairman,
secretary or safety officer should be notified and the member warned by
letter to the effect that a continuing of his conduct will render him
liable to being expelled from the club and the insurance coy covering him
will be informed. 15.
No person will be permitted to fly model aircraft on the site while
smelling or under the influence of drink. 16. Foul or abusive language will not be tolerated on the site, offenders will be warned and continuing use will render user liable to expulsion. 17.
Any member of the club found causing deliberate damage to property
not belonging to him would render himself liable to immediate expulsion
from the club. 18.
No member is permitted to bring onto the land or flying site, any
dog, cat or any other animal and the landowner has requested that any
member of the public should be requested to refrain from doing so. 19.
The landowner has requested that all members of the club should
discourage members of the public from using his land for camping, playing
or any other purpose other than being a spectator of the flying of model
aircraft. 20.
No club member is allowed to fish within the site area. 21. All members are requested, that while they are flying or a spectator on the flying site that they conduct themselves in a manner which will encourage, young or old members of the public to consider taking up the sport and give any assistance in this way. 22.
Helicopter Flying, at
the discretion of the committee, no “hover” flying whilst other
members are air borne, flying whilst other fixed wing are air borne as
long as circuit flying is maintained. Channels 81-86 have been set aside
for heli flying only. 23. No electric winch or bungee type launching system should be used during general flying; large powerless gliders should be avoided. 24. All pilots should reach a standard level of proficiency before solo flying 25.
Junior members are encouraged to us a “buddy box” system until they
have reached a proficient flying level.
